What is NJTSS/RTI?
NJTSS is a framework of supports and interventions to improve student achievement, based on the core components of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and the three tier prevention logic of Response to Intervention. NJTSS builds on I&RS and gives schools structures to meet the academic, behavioral, health, enrichment, and social/emotional needs of all students.

Why do we need NJTSS/RTI?
-Required by N.J.A.C. 6A:16-8.1
-Required in NJ QSAC
-To meet the needs of all students through:
-High-quality learning environments, curricula and instructional practices
-Universal screening
-Data-based decision making
-Collaborative problem solving teams
-Progress monitoring
How will we implement NJTSS/RTI?
-Shifts in K-6 schedule
-Two 30-minute intervention/enrichment periods a week
-PLC time included weekly teacher schedule
-Universal Screening Tool (i-Ready)

-School Based Data Teams
-Creation of District Wide RTI Handbook
-Elementary School Counselors
-Elementary Instructional Coaches/Interventionist
