Message from the Principal

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and Rahway High School Students:

Freshman and new student orientation will occur on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. All freshman and new students should report to the RHS auditorium at 1:00pm.

School re-opens for all students at RHS on Thursday, September 6, 2018. Report to RHS at 7:50 a.m. and homeroom begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. There will be no 7:12 a.m. classes on Thursday, September 6, 2018. Period 1 (7:12 a.m.) classes will begin on Friday, September 7, 2018.

I want to take this opportunity to offer a warm welcome back as we begin the 2018-2019 school year. I look forward to working with all of you and I have high hopes and high expectations for the upcoming school year. In order for our high school staff to support our students to the fullest extent, we must now handle many important tasks through our online data systems. Posted on the front page of the high school web page under RHS Quick Links there is a link entitled District Start of School Forms and Information. In that folder are forms that must be completed online as a requirement for each student enrolled in the Rahway School District. Please review this information carefully and submit and/or update all requested information in these District categories.

In addition to the District online information, Rahway High School’s web page has additional information entitled RHS Start of School Documents Folder which is also found on the high school home page under the menu entitled RHS Quick Links. The District information and links to Rahway High School can be found at

Assistance with District and RHS forms will be available at our Open House on Thursday, September 27, 2018.

As we begin the school year, I want to encourage parents to utilize online access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal to review their child’s academic progress information and the “My 10 Year Plan” web resource to view information about college, career, and life planning information.

I also want to inform parents that we will no longer mail paper copies of report cards and progress reports. Report cards and progress reports are available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Paper copies of report cards and progress reports will only be issued upon a written request to the Rahway High School Guidance Office.

On behalf of our entire Rahway High School Community, I extend to you my best wishes for a productive and pleasant school year.
