Cleveland School Honors Rahway Veterans

In honor of Black History Month, Grover Cleveland Elementary School paid tribute to 6 living African American Rahway Veterans.  Veterans were honored during an assembly for 3rd - 6th-grade students for their dedication and service in the armed forces. The school also presented the Merchants and Drovers Museum Association with a  plaque commemorating the 29 African American Civil War Veterans buried in the Rahway Cemetery. Those soldiers served in the United States Colored Troop during the Civil War from 1861-1865.
