I have met all of the students this year and I am glad to see them enjoying all the books we have for you to read. We have all kinds of genres like mysteries, poems, folktales, novels, biographies, graphic novels and many, many more.
Your child comes to the media center for 30 minutes one day a week. During that time your child is encouraged to take out books starting at first grade. We have plenty of fiction books from Dr. Seuss, Mercer Mayer, Dora the Explorer and Mo Willems Collections. For the older students we have 39 Clues, Dan Gutman’s collection, Goosebumps, Dork Diaries and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Our nonfiction selection ranges from math, poetry, wild animals to religion. There are so many books for your child to choose.
Please remind your child to take care of their library books. They take them out on loan. When they return the book, it should be in the same condition it was in when they took it out of the media center. If the book is lost or damaged when your child as the book out, they are responsible to pay for the book to be replaced or to pay a fine for the damage.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year in the media center and remember, the most important thing is to read, read, and read some more. Think of what you can learn from a book. I hope you all have a great year at Cleveland! Cleveland ROCKS!
