Board of Education Goals for 2025-2026
-
Governance
The Board will refine its policy oversight and compliance by maintaining the Strauss Esmay policy manual with regular reviews. These reviews will ensure alignment with state regulations and district priorities. The Board will continue to uphold clear, consistent governance practices that reflect accountability and integrity. -
Transparency
The Board will advance transparent and responsive governance by expanding opportunities for community input and providing accessible summaries of Board actions. The Board recognizes the importance of building trust with stakeholders through open dialogue and clear communication of district priorities and decisions. -
Accountability
The Board will strengthen accountability through an annual self-evaluation using NJSBA tools. The results of this assessment will guide Board training and governance practices, ensuring continual growth and effectiveness in service to students, families, and the community. -
Leadership
The Board will ensure strategic leadership alignment by connecting the Superintendent’s evaluation and Board decisions to the district’s strategic plan. In all decisions, the Board will emphasize student achievement, equity, and fiscal responsibility as central measures of success. -
Education
The Board will support the recruitment and retention of diverse, highly qualified, and appropriately credentialed educators and staff. The Board will also engage in professional development opportunities, including individual Board Member Academy courses and NJSBA Board Certification training, to strengthen its collective knowledge and leadership capacity in service of the district’s students.
