    Principal's message on School Closure

    March 16, 2020

    Dear Parents/Guardians:

As a precautionary measure to decrease the spread of COVID-19 and in response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in New Jersey, the Rahway High School will be closed from Monday, March 16, 2020, through Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

Due to the long-standing closure, Rahway High School is more than prepared to provide home instruction during the closure.

Beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020, students will participate in home instruction.

Listed below is a summary of the information your child will need in order to participate in home instruction.  Home instruction will count towards required school days.

    1. Home instruction for all students will be effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and will remain in effect through Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
    2. Instructional materials for home instruction are available on the web pages for each class that a student is taking at Rahway High School.
    3. If a student does not have access to technology, class packets will be available for pickup in the Rahway High School cafeteria from 9:00 am – 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2020; Wednesday, March 18, 2020; and Thursday, March 19, 2020.
    4. Students only need to pick up a paper packet when they are unable to retrieve their home instruction materials through their teacher’s homework web page electronically.

As always, the safety and well-being of the Rahway High School community is of the utmost priority.  I would like to thank all of you for your ongoing support through this challenging time. Communication will continue to be done through email and phone messages.  Please make sure that your contact information is current in PowerSchool.

    John Farinella

    Rahway High School Principal
