Jennifer Alphonse, Program Supervisor of Early Childhood Education

I am honored to be a part of the Rahway Public Schools administrative team, specifically as the Program Supervisor of Early Childhood Education. During my twenty years in the field of Early Childhood Education, I have serviced various communities within New Jersey and the City of New York as a teacher, instructional coach and administrator. My experiences have afforded me the necessary knowledge to support and develop high quality preschool programs and I am excited to share this information with the staff, children and families of Rahway.

Welcome families! In my role as the Early Childhood Education Specialist, I offer support to classroom teachers in planning strategies, adapting teaching practices and making modifications to assist children within the classroom and preschool environment. My role is to assist teachers with many things, but the most important thing that we do is work with the staff and children to ensure a successful preschool experience. I am very proud to say that I am a product of the Rahway Public School District. I graduated from Kean University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I have been working in early childhood for 13 years. Previously, I was a preschool teacher and second grade teacher. I am very excited to work with your child this school year!

I’m a Brooklyn native who moved to New Jersey 13years ago. I have been married for over 25 years and have two beautiful daughters, whom I am so proud of. My Career started In New York where I managed one of Macy’s (Herald Square) busiest departments for over 15 years. After moving to New Jersey, I decided to bring my people skills to the New Jersey public school system. I have enjoyed assisting and working with some of the best leaders in this program. I believe that one of my biggest strengths is that I understand how important it is to always put our students and parents first. I have many hobbies, but what brings me the most joy is event planning. I love transforming an idea that was born on paper and bringing it to life. What I most like is bringing joy to the event host, friend or family member, and leaving them with lasting memories.
