Would you rather be with a man or a woman in an emergency situation?

Our 8th grade students read “The Dinner Party,” a short story by Mona Gardner. The students then answered the question, “In an emergency, with whom would you rather be, a man or a woman?” Our students answered the question in the form of an open-ended response and depicted the story on paper.
