FOURTH GRADE GIFTED AND TALENTED ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROJECT

The fourth grade Gifted and Talented class is selling folders and notebooks.  The folders have pockets filled with summer fun activities.  The cost for a folder is $1.99. The notebooks are one subject, and they are perfect for summer journal writing.  They are selling for $2.99 each.  All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to purchase new movies for recess on rainy days.  The folders are designed by the GT students in fourth grade.

ROSES

The rose is the favorite flower of 85% of Americans.

George Washington bred roses at his home.

A fossilized rose, which was 35 million years old, was found in Florissant, Colorado.

Rose hips contain more Vitamin C than any fruit or vegetable.

Shakespeare referred to roses over fifty times in his works.

In current years, U.S flower buyers purchased over 1,200,000,000 roses.

HAPPY HOPPIN' BUNNY

Once there was a bunny named Burt.  All of his friends could hop as high as the Empire State Building, but he couldn’t hop a centimeter off the ground.  He had a bad bunny disease,  Bunnyfisher.

One day his friends pulled a prank on him by putting a trampoline under him so he thought he bounced. He lived with that memory until he bounced off the trampoline and could not get off the ground.  His dad helped him get off the ground and hop.  He learned how to fight the disease.  Now he could hop higher than anything in the bunny world and broke a bunny record.  Now he goes along singing this tune.

“I’m Mr. Happy Hoppin’ Bunny man.  I’m magnificent, yes I am!

Over and over again!  He lived to be the happiest hoppiest bunny ever to hop in “Bunny Land!”

   PURPOSE GARDEN

Mr. Lillypad’s garden was not colorful.  Everything had a purpose.  He would eat his tomatoes, carrots, corn, and cabbage.  His flowers were used for the annual “Once A Year Date”!  If a fly flew by him or his garden, he would swat it!  He would step on spiders, and let the bees sting Kate’s dog!

Everything was tidy in the garden, until “That Day”!  Kate came by the garden with her dog.  Kate was seven and she was Mr. .Lillypad’s neighbor.  Spike ran into the garden and did his thing on the tomatoes and Kate picked the flowers.  “Ahh”, Mr. Lillypad screamed, “You will replant my garden at once!”

And so Kate did!  She replanted it with different colors, shapes and sizes of flowers.  Soon, the garden was beautiful once again.  Mr. Lillypad hated it so much, that he moved to Idaho, far from New York!  The garden was then turned into Kate’s Garden.  Mr. Lillypad’s house was then knocked down and turned into a playground.  Kate’s block was now better than ever!

Soccer’s the game that rules my brain.

You can kick, run, use your head, and even score a goal.

It’s so much fun, you can’t even believe it.

Dreams and hopes can be achieved, just remember to play in the spring.

Mrs. Lewis and her students became Mommy Hens! Farmer Larry and Farmer Lily came to our class. They learned about roosters and hens. The farmers left them 12 eggs and an incubator. They turned the eggs. On Monday, they watched as their eggs cracked and out popped 12 baby chicks. The children love holding the fluffy chicks. They read stories about the chicks, and wrote wonderful sentences about their chicks!

Flowers are blooming because spring is here.

All of the kids have great cheer.

The leaves are growing and it’s not snowing.

Since winter is gone,

So people are sad,

Next year they will be glad!
